The Future of Mass Effect: Microsoft and Bioware Speak.

It comes as somewhat of a disappointment to me that EA managed to acquire Pandemic Studios and BioWare. I'm not going to say I hate EA, but personally I have a strong distaste for their cooperate procedures. The biggest question that seems to be on everyone's mind is what will happen to all the IP that belongs to these companies.
Unlike Bungie and Halo, Microsoft does not explicitly own the rights to their titles. The departure is especially important with the upcoming release of Mass Effect. The title is of course one of the most anticipated RPGs for the 360, and was also intended to be the first of a trilogy of Xbox exclusives.
Eventually, Gamespot managed to get in touch of BioWare to discuss the future of their franchise. They of course asked the question that was on everyones mind, will there still be sequels, and who will be publishing them?
We can't predict the future. We'll see what happens. The key thing is we're making a trilogy of Mass Effect games, and we've got a great story arc.
Grim. At least they seem optimistic. As with all things EA, I'm sure that we can expect to see the sequels. Mass Effect is, of course, still scheduled for release on November 20, 2007. Be sure to pre-order your copy of Mass Effect 2009, available on the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PSP, DS, and GBA.

I wonder how this will effect Dragon Age...
Mass Effect is going to release on PS3?
That is great news. I had considered buying
a 360 just for that game. Hurrah!
As far as I know, it's not planned. I was more making a joke about EA and their business model of port to everything and release a new revision every year.
