Video: Street Fighter 4 Trailer
This is what Capcom's countdown apparently led up to. The teaser trailer to the long awaited Street Fighter 4. This is the first true sequel in the franchise in what feels like eons. What do I think of it? It looks mighty nice, though it's only a teaser. The music seems to have taken a cue from the Devil May Cry series and the visuals are very stylish. I have to wonder if the visuals presented here are a hint at what the game might look like? I could see it minus the residual black 'smoke' everywhere. Just click play to watch. I'm very happy a new installment is now officially underway.

Some of the movement seems to be a reference to the original animated movie.
Still, so exciting!
Ah, very artsy. I like how they incorporated Kens flashier and sloppy-looking interpretation of his fighting style into the animation. And it pisses me off as hell that Ryu won't shout HADOKEN at the very end - what's up with that?
Street Fighter 4: Okami?
Okay, I'm god damned sick and tired of people using the whole "bring it" move that Morpheus did in Matrix. By the end of the Matrix trilogy, they totally burned me out on it. And now everyone's doing it.
And how did I know the video would end with a HUGE focus in the cheap-ass Ryu move which I'm not even going to bother researching to make sure I spell it correctly. You know the one, where "I attack you from a distance so you can't hit me" move. Just like a damned sniper...
Alright, now that I've gotten that out of my system, the video looks cool, but it seemed to be more of a fanart video than a showcase of things to come. I'm not holding my breath for this one until I see gameplay. And I'll be holding onto something else entirely until I see E. Honda. :)
Luckily it's a trailer, because I would hate playing a game with that art style. There is way too much mess to clearly identify details, especially for what would be needed for fighting games such as beginning frames of animation for an attack.
I just hope Zangief has a nice big bulge to gawp at : )
