Weekend Writers Wanted!

Happy Tuesday GayGamers! Have you always wanted to write about video games with a gay sensibility for the best and brightest audience in the known universe? This is your lucky day. We're bringing on two new weekend writers, and we want them to be you!
Weekend writers will write three posts a day on Saturday and Sunday while luxuriating in the mosaic-lined saunas and tepidaria that grace the GayGamer Castle baths. They'll also live the thrilling adventure that is GayGamer, becoming part of the best gay and gay-friendly video game news team this side of Anderson Cooper. We still work to break even, so a modest stipend will be yours, but the resume-building experience and active journalist work will beef up even the most paltry of CVs.
Interested? Potential Weekend Writers should send two writing samples (pre-existing or mocked-up just for us, take your pick) that showcase personality, familiarity with the gaming world, solid writing skills and a love of all that is gay and gamery!
Please send your applications to info@gaygamer.net with the subject heading "Weekend Writer." Please don't forget the subject heading, as that's how we'll sort out the applications from the rest of our mail!
If you've previously sent in materials to be a GayGamer writer, please do so again! Our carrier pigeons have all died of bird flu. RIP Hedwig, Pigwidgeon.

I am going to ask a dumb question. A question so dumb - it may even disqualify me and cause me to fail at life.
But I must ask, because I love GayGamer. So here it is:
Does the prospective writer have to be gay?
Mr. Hummel, that's an interesting question.
Personally, I think a straight(or bi?) writer would be an interesting addition to the site, and I for one would be in favor of it. A straight gamer's opinion would certainly provide contrast *pretending to know what I'm talking about*
Besides, if GayGamer were to bar someone simply for being straight, then it would be no better than a straight employer not hiring someone because they're gay.
well.....they could always have a token straight.
fun turnaround if you ask me.
Just out of curiosity, when is the deadline for this, and/or when should applicants expect to hear back?
@John Hummel: We do not discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation. Anyone can apply for the position and may the best gay, bi, straight,man/men/woman/women transsexual, transsexuals win!
@Scotty: We will be making a decision by the beginning of next week!
That's what I though, but nobody ever got hurt by asking a question. Well, except that guy who wondered what would happen ifvyou combined crotch and duct tape, but that's a separate issue.
