Weekly XBLA Update: 10/17/07

Today heralds the arrival of a game I played for about 60 seconds at TGS, Every Extend Extra Extreme, and which I happily described as the gaming equivalent of snorting ten lines of coke off of the breasts of ten hookers at once. Now, since everybody knows my hookers don't have breasts, nobody can take offense at the still very apt metaphor: this game is full of twitchy seizure-fun, it pulses in your hands (or wherever else you cram your controller), and it will even do so in time to your music. 800 Microsoft Points. Made by Q; brainchild of Rez whosit Tetsuya Mizuguchi. No excuse not to buy it. None!

Oh, also: the futuristic sports game Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe. No offense, Microsoft, but I've already made one stimulant reference in this post - gotta keep it clean for the kids. So you can enjoy Speedball 2, also for 800 Microsoft Points, in its classic 2D graphics or in the sparkling new 3D mojo. Sports, future, yarrr!

Make the jump for more.

Every Extend Extra Extreme from Q Entertainment is a frenetic race for survival. With 100 times more enemies and chain reactions than its predecessor, the objective of this unique action-packed shooter is to set off a chain reaction to wipe out enemies and collect the items they leave behind to extend the game. The game features five distinct game modes including Main mode, Wiz Ur Muzik mode, VS mode, Time Attack Mode and a genuine shooting mode. In Wiz Ur Muzik mode, players can customize the gameplay experience using their favorite music.

Bitmap Brothers and Empire Interactive are bringing back the futuristic sports game Speedball™ 2: Brutal Deluxe, now updated for Xbox LIVE Arcade. Play the fast-paced, brutal game with its classic 2-D graphics or go full on with the newly enhanced high definition 3-D visuals. Smash your way to the top of the league in the solo game or go head-to-head locally or on Xbox LIVE. The game features 32 teams, four leagues, cup and knockout competitions, team enhancements, management and training options, and Ranked Preset or Ranked Career games.
