Welcome to GayGamer v3.0!

Ahoy Gamers,

After many weeks and sleepless nights for your tech team, we have finally moved to our new server. Not only that but we have upgraded our publisher which was slightly painful, but the results are very exciting, especially from the back end (insert back end joke here). There have also been some significant changes on the front end as well that I'll detail below. Inevitably there will end up being some little things to work out this week, so if you see anything broken, feel free to let us know at info@gaygamer.net.

The Layout:
You probably notice quite a few changes in the layout which we have tried to make more efficient, especially when the new blogs roll out later this week. The navigation has now been moved to the top of the page for easy access to the forums (and new blogs) and the subnav lives right underneath of it. We've also moved things around a bit in the sidebars to consolidate and compact.

Regarding Ads:
If you are a regular forum user, you've probably noticed that ads have been added to the forums. I know quite a few of you have voiced complaints, but unfortunately it's a necessary evil. I don't like ads any more than you do, but in order for us to keep GayGamer and it's forums running, we need to have some money coming in. We are working on some different ideas and methods for making this work for everyone, but hopefully you will bear with us until we sort it all out.

The Store:
In an effort to bring some more money in (and bring you a better site) we have opened a little Amazon store that is accessible from the top navbar. If you would like t help support GayGamer, you can do so buy making your Amazon gaming purchases through this store. Eventually, we will have our own products for sale there including the often asked about GG t-shirts!

The New Blogs:
While they aren't quite ready yet, the new blogs are on their way later this week. You will be able to access all of them through the top navigational bar so you can switch back an forth from the GG family of blogs with ease. So, keep your eyes on that top nav as it will be changing soon!

Finally, I'd like to give a huge thanks to Chris Furniss from the Weekly Geek for all his hard work in getting the coding for new site done, Asterick for helping out getting the new server set up and last but certainly not least, Mikey for staying up with me until 4am for the last few days ironing all the bugs out and making everything function properly. And of course thanks to you, our readers and forum members, for supporting us and continuing to make GayGamer a great site to work on.

Sincerely,
Fruit Brute

I may be missing something but how is purchasing items via the amazon store helping out gaygamer? Is this like a surplus of supplies that you guys had, or an agreement with amazon?

Don't get me wrong, I will definitely support gaygamer by any means necessary...I just want to know how it works :-)

Everything you buy through our store, we get a small percentage of. So in essence you're supporting the site that way. :)

As a suggestion on ads, have you guys thought about using Text Link Ads? They're super easy to set up and also yield monthly, but you get up to 50% back on links sold! I use it on my site and get around $75-$100 a month.

I don't know where else to put this but the bar on the left side of the screen is running down the middle of the page instead of on the left where it should be.

Finally T-shirts! I just want a black T-shirt with the icon on the front of it. Don't have it say Gay Gamer or gaygamer.net. Because then it becomes a little difficult to wear it anywhere I want.

You guys do what you need to do to keep the site running. It not hard to simply skip over the ad! :) thanks for the hard work. I appreciate the site a lot.

I so wish you guys had the amazon link up yesterday when I preordered Rock Band. Not that I didn't want money to go to gaygamer friend CheapAssGamer, but...

Anywho, hooray for new improvements! I can't wait to pick up a gg shirt. You guys do good work and offer me the best kind of distraction at work! ;P
