Wii Fit Priced & Dated For Japan

North Americans (or "Nasty Northies" as I like to call them, when I call them) and Europeans ("Truffle-Rooting Inbred Drunkards," as experience has taught me) still have to wait, but the Japanese (or "Japanese," as my racist uncle Finger Dancer used to say) have both pricing and a release date for Wii Fit.
The world's coolest scale goes on sale in Japan on December 1st for ¥8,800, or $75. With the Japanese version of Smash Bros Brawl delayed to January 24, 2008, it's hard to imagine Wii Fit making it to us Truffle-Rooting Inbred Drunkards and Nasty Northies before next year - especially since Reggie's gone on record forswearing enough Wii inventory for the holiday season.
Disappointment or delight at not having to weigh yourself to play a video game? (I know, I know - Wii Fit doesn't give your weight, it gives your Body Mass Index, which if you're in the know is potentially more devastating than pure poundage, but I digress...) Either way, it's a nail-biting wait for those of us who need Nintendo to show us how to do yoga. Oy, the tension! Will I get my Wii Fit in time for Yule?
This is why they don't have Kwanzaa in Japan.

Hmm, yoga on the Wii. What would really get me interested is if Wii Fit included Tai Chi. That would be cool and seems like a good use of the controls and the new pad.
Maybe that's what's in store for DDR!

I'm sure that just like with Wii Sports, Wii Fit will be an entertaining collection of mini-games, but I do hope that someone somewhere develops a proper exercise and fitness tracking title down the line that uses the Wii Fit board. Because I'm doubtful that Wii Fit will have any kind of serious exercise program among the mini-games.
