Wii System Update 3.1

When I awoke this morning, I discovered the serene blue glow of my Wii filling the living room, so I hopped on to see what was up. Turns out, there's a system update, bringing the Wii to v3.1. According to the Wii-mail from Nintendo alerting users to the update, it seems the only additional functionality is that you can now use USB keyboards. Which, even on its own, is certainly worth an update because on-screen typing bites!
There's also an update to the Everybody Votes Channel, to work with v3.1, and when I went into the Wii Shop Channel to download it, I also noticed that there was an update to the Internet Browser. No idea what that fixes, (all I noticed was a new opening animation) but I downloaded that, too.
They also suggested reviewing the new User Agreements either from the Wii menu or on the Nintendo Website, but honestly, does anybody read those things?

while you were sleeping... it turned out to big a big day for announcements for the wii... including a release of several new channels... first screens of wiiware titles and prices.... a whole butt load of new things... like monster hunter 3 moving from the PS3 lineup to the wii lineup... and not to mention the revealing of sonic the hedgehog in super smash. bros. brawl.... along with a video and a new fall 2007 video game play trailer... the only sad thing for them today was that super smash bros. brawl release date went from december 3rd to TBD... so there seems to be a bit of a game delay. i guess we will have to wait and see.
ooh internet browser for the wii lets you type with keyboard instead of wiipointing the letters :D am excited i like it way more now
I have not had a chance to update or play with my Wii update yet, but I'd suspect that something else for the Wii Internet Channel update was an update for the flash player.
I noticed that YouTube videos were not longer playable on the Opera browser last week. Hopefully that has been resolved.
3 messages came at the same time. One was the updated User Agreements, the other was the Wii Menu, and the last was about Internet Channel and Everybody Votes.
The internet channel was updated to use a usb keyboard too, and integrated to the Wii message board when someone sends you a link in a message. You can also send favorite links to other Wii users on your list.
For Everybody Votes, it looks like the only addition was more detailed statistics in regions. Don't know if it applies by states and/or countries.
I can't beieve everyone has a Wii that glows when there's a download....mine says ... GOod Morning John...I have a gift for you.....HEAVEN!
