Blip Festival 2007 Lineup
Them lucky Yanks get everything good. Broadway, H&M, and now this...
The 2007 Blip Festival is kicking off this Thursday in the big apple, for a four day celebration of chip tune music. The event was organized by New Yorks own chip tune music collective 8bitpeoples. DJs will be wielding Ataris, Commodore 64s, NES, and Gameboys to rock out the 8 bit sound. Over 40 musical and visual artists are scheduled to attend. Some of the biggest names in the scene will be appearing such as, Bit Shifter, Nullsleep, and Blasterhead.
There will also be workshops to attend for aspiring chip tune musicians and screenings. One of the more notable films to be shown is 8-Bit Generation, a new documentary about low-bit art and chiptune music. The director Lionel Brouet, will be on hand to introduce the film.
If you are lucky enough to be in NY this weekend, pop on over to check out this impressive festival. I was upset that I didn't see that cutie Cicada on the lineup. Maybe next year, bud.

I'm going! I can't wait!
