Child's Play Charity Outpacing Previous Years, Raises $330,000

Penny Arcade co-creator Jerry "Tycho" Holkins announced that so far the Child's Play charity has raised $330,000 this season, with additional money already donated but "tied up" before it can be tallied, as well as several major fund raising avenues expected before the end of the year. At the end of November last year, the charity had raised $260,000 on it's way to a total of $1,024,400, so hopefully the giving will continue on at the increased pace.
Child's Play was founded in 2003 as a way for gamers to donate videogames and other toys to local Seattle children's hospitals. Since then, the organization has expanded to include hospitals around the United States and the world. Gamers looking to donate items can visit the charity's homepage and either choose a specific hospital's Amazon wishlist from the map, or simply donate cash via Paypal. Additionally, check their special events page for local fundraising efforts, such as a two city FÜNDE RAZOR (New York and Denver) and the Annual Dinner Auction in Seattle. If you're so inclined, maybe take some of that money you saved at all the Black Friday sales and send it to some kids who could really use it.
