DivX On Your 360 -- There's Still Hope!
It looks like your Xbox 360 may well be gaining DivX support in the next system update. While I would by no means consider this to be an official confirmation, DivX may have tipped their hand at a recent JP Morgan conference following the release of their latest earnings report. In response to a carefully worded question by JP Morgan analyst Paul Coster regarding recent DivX support in Microsoft's media extender, DivX's own Kevin Hell admits that DivX has indeed been in discussions with Microsoft.
I'm quite pleasantly surprised. I really didn't expect Microsoft would decide to license DivX on their machines, but I would certainly be among the first in line to thank them! This adds a little more credence to the rumor of DivX support from a few months ago.
