EA Vs Rockstar: The Non-Troversy

229.jpg

A certain peacock of a Kotaku writer got to the bottom of the alleged blood feud between EA's The Simpsons team and my fellow New Yorkers at Rockstar. First off, I'd have gotten Rockstar's back in a showdown because we grew up together on these mean streets. But unfortunately, I've had to put away my brass knuckles that spell out T-I-N-Y "on yer freakin' forehead if you don't shut that yapper," not only because this whole Outsiders gang-fight thing is just in my head, but because it's just in everybody's head.

EA spokeswoman Tammy Schachter confirmed as much recently in an exclusive interview with dashing Kotakuite and sometime GayGamer Editor Flynn De Marco:

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to put these rumors to rest. There was absolutely no content removed from the game as a result of complaints or comments by another publisher.
The spoof content and parody storyline for The Simpsons Game has been in place since the early stages of the titles' development. In-game spoof content for Grand Theft Scratchy has not been removed.

So there you have it, folks. Nobody's climbing into Thunderdome tonight: Grand Theft Scratchy lives, Scratchygate never happened, and all is as it should be: cut-throat, overblown, and forgotten in 48 hours.

I don't understand how that can be 100% true. I have the game myself, and while yes, there are indeed references to Grand Theft Scratchy - there are also references to "Mob Rules", the supposed trade-off name being used to subdue Cry-star, to the point that the parody is even referred to as Mob Rules in the instruction manual.
