Enough With The Taking, Give Already!

November 1st marked the kick off of Child's Play's annual holiday charity drive. If you're not familiar with Child's Play, it is a charitable organization created in 2003 by Mike Krahulik and Jerry Holkins (creators of Penny Arcade) to help bring gaming to hospitalized children in need. Since its inception, over $2 million worth of toys and video games have been donated to care facilities around the world to provide a much needed distraction for these young patients and their families.
It's really simple! With the help of hospital staff, wish lists have been set up at Amazon.com for over 40 individual children's hospitals. Anyone can peruse the wish lists, by location, and purchase items to be shipped directly to those who have requested it. All donated items are kept by the hospital staff and checked out to rooms of the young patients who request them.
So here I am, putting the call out to ALL gamers to help out in some way. Whether you can purchase a game or two from the registry or you would just like to kick in a few bucks, you will be making a direct impact on the lives of some great kids who are facing some very serious challenges.
Now, come on! I know you have it in you, so get on over to Child's Play and start your holiday shopping early!
