Max Payne Goes To The Movies

Marky Mark, errr, Mark Wahlburg has signed on to play the role of Max Payne in Fox's adaptation of the game series. The movie will be written by Beau Thorne and "shooting will begin early next year under the helm of John Moore ("Behind Enemy Lines," "The Omen")." If you're not familiar with the story of the games, Max Payne is a "cop who is haunted by the tragic loss of his family and has little regard for rules as he investigates a series of mysterious murders."
It's a great series and its intentional campiness only enhances it. The soundtrack is superb, especially the main theme as featured in Max Payne 2, and it is the only series to do Bullet Time (in my opinion) without a hitch. If you haven't played them, you should. They are, of course, for sale in our very own store at the top fo the page.
What would you like to see done with the story for this film? Should it be made at all? Will it be good!? We want to know your opinions. By the way, there sure have been a lot of video game adaptations popping up lately. Even more ever since Silent Hill made it to the silver screen.
Mark Wahlberg Is "Max Payne" [Dark Horizons]

I wonder, if Max Payne wrote a book, would he dedicate it to his penis?
I love those games, especially 2 (I'm a sucker for noir-esque romance). I dunno about Mark Wahlburg as Max, though...I'd have gone with someone a bit older (though maybe for Max Payne 1 Max, he'll fit).
As long as it keeps the cheesy monologues and has some sort of visual flair to it that echoes the "graphic novel" cutscenes from the games, it should be good.
If they go overboard with the bullet-time and make it all Matrix-y, it'll fail hardcore.

This movie sounds so awesome that all the burgers in McDonalds sang loudly as they cried grease tears from the stove.
I'm horrible at bad metaphors, but I can't wait to see what happens with this =) I've been waiting ever since it was mentioned in the first game that they wanted to make a movie, TV series, and comic book based on the Max Payne "Trilogy"
