Hey, gamers of a certain age? Remember when Nintendo gave away copies of Dragon Warrior for the NES with a subscription to Nintendo Power? This is nothing like that.
Yes, Microsoft is giving away copies of Halo 3, but it doesn't apply to everyone, and it's certainly not as simple as signing up for the Official Xbox Magazine. Basically if you:
- own an original Xbox and
- still subscribe to Xbox Live, and then you
- go and buy an Xbox 360 between November 21 and December 21st, hook it up, and
- convert your current Xbox Live membership into a Gold membership on the new machine,
That's a lot of hoops to jump through to save $60, but at least it's a generous way to get people still clinging to their big black monsters into the new generation of consoles.
