More Details Of Flower Emerge

Other than a teaser trailer, there has been scant info available for ThatGameCompany's follow up to flOw, which debuted at TGS this year as Flower. Kellee Santiago of ThatGameCompany recently revealed new details about the project that is their "first game outside the safety net of academia."
Santiago speaks mainly of eliciting various emotional responses from the player. The player grows flowers in a field, but their design aims to make you "experience a field in a way you couldn't in real life." The developers tackled issues during the development cycle like what emotional interaction would the field have if you played the sun, or the wind.
The genesis of the project concerned controlling petals in the wind. There is no word if this element has remained in the final product, but they definitely scrapped the magical abilities that were supposed to appear in the title.
I will be following this project very closely since I have been a big fan of their previous work. Cloud and flOw are highly original titles that create a mood while playing that is completely unique to their company.
