No Achievements or Gamerscore on Xbox Originals
If you're an achievements whore and all about the gamerscore, you'll be disappointed to know that when the original Xbox games become available on XBLA on December 4th, you won't be able to gain anything from them.
Xbox Live director of programming, Major Nelson (aka Larry Hryb), has stated that although there were rumors flying around about the originals allowing you to improve your gamerscore and so on, there's no truth in that at all. In a statement that appeared on his blog, The Major says that "they will have the features available at the time of their initial release". This won't come as much of a surprise to most gamers, but at least we know now and won't be hoping to add an extra five points here and there for obscure achievements.
If you do want to download some of the games that will be available (Psychonauts, Halo, Crimson Skies, Crash Bandicoot: Wrath of Cortex, Fuzion Frenzy, and Burnout 3: Takedown) then it will cost you around 1200 Microsoft points. You may however be able to pick some of these titles up for less than that second hand and you're less likely to have some of the 'bugs' Microsoft have mentioned may be there. Still, it's interesting we're getting the chance to have more downloadable content and that can only be a great thing.

I wasn't surprised to hear that there would be no achievements offered with original Xbox titles. It would take time and money to go back and rework the older titles and that cost would have to be passed on to the consumer somewhere, and I don't see a lot of people spending more than $15 on most Xbox titles.
