NY Times Botches Video Game Facts

In an essential hardware buying guide article, NY Times misreported some easily researched facts. The coverage of the Wii is pretty decent, stating that nongamers like it because of the simplicity of the console. Everything falls to pieces when they discuss the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
First off, they claim that Gran Turismo 5 as, "a hyper-realistic, high-speed journey, is one of the best sellers for that Sony console." Which would probably be true if the game had already been released. Actually, we don't even have a confirmed release date for the game. Then they report the PS3 has a retail price of $299. Show me that sale! That sounds like a great price point to me. I imagine Sony would push tons of consoles at that slim price, unfortunately the entry price point is $399. As icing on the cake of misinformation, they claim that both consoles are, "built around the multicore Cell processor, which allows numerous tasks to be done simultaneously." Wow! I mean really, wow! Not even close, bud. Those consoles are so different, we see reports frequently about the difficulty of developing a multiplatform title.
Word to the wise, NYT. There is a little site called Google.com. You may have heard about it. It's really helpful when you are doing research. If I could roll my eyes farther back in my head, I would.
Some Essential Hardware (Even Away From the Street) [NY Times]

I... I...
Um...
Well...
Just...
Ugh...
Ugh...
... Ugh
Yeah.....I guess the rumor is true...gamers and NY Times are from 2 entirely different galaxies.
I thought the Cell was single core, multi-threaded and the 360 had tripple cores?
They really fucked up on this article. Old Media has no idea what they are talking about and show no interest in learning, thats why they are fading out.
If it's printed, it must be true. Bloggers can't be trusted.
Wikipedia told me so. *nod*
They fixed it.
It still reads a bit awkward though. There are fantastic games out for the PS3, and all they can come up with is Gran Turismo 5? Whatever.
