Pokemon Snap Uses Wii Function On VC
Dengeki Online reports (via CVG)Pokemon Snap is being released on the Virtual Console in Japan with added Wii functionality. For those of you who may have missed this gem the first time around, players in Pokemon Snap travel through Pokemon land on a rail-guided cart to take pictures of the precious creatures, or toss food and pester balls.
In the VC version of the game, players will be able to post their pictures to the Wii message board and send them to friends. This is a neat little feature, but it's a big deal that concerns future VC releases. This means Nintendo has crossed the line in their attempt to present their games exactly as they were originally published. Hopefully we will see even more Wii features included such as pointer integration for Mario Paint. Now that would be something to cheer about.

It's not like the message board feature drastically changes the gameplay, if anything this is a smart move for them. I wonder if they've changed Jynx's skin to purple in this port. Viva la Jynx!
I know I can't wait to show everyone on my friends list my Bulbasaur.
This is really cool, though, and I'm hope it means Nintendo's no longer going to release versions of the games with bits missing (i.e. Mario Kart 64). I doubt we'll ever get real online play in a virtual console title (the most natural addition to a lot of games), but little things like this definitely give me an incentive to re-buy a title. Now we'll have to see if it comes with a price bump...
