Rumorama: Bioshock Sequel, 2K Boston Spinoff Studio In CA?
The word comes to us through the uncannily accurate predictions of Surfer Girl that part of the creative team behind Bioshock are setting up shop with a new studio in the SF Bay area. 2K Marin, as Surfer Girl christens the new studio (will she be right? I'm taking bets), will also include some folks from 2K Australia.
Lending credence to this rumor is a now-altered job posting on Gamasutra looking for a lead animator for a new 2K studio in Novato, CA (2K Novato?) that had previously included the teaser line:
Some of the creators of the award-winning “Bioshock” are starting up a new studio in the Bay Area
Doubting Thomases can still see Google's cached image of the unaltered job posting. Whether or not it relates directly to the inevitable Bioshock sequel remains to be seen...if so, the still-theoretical project will be moving forward without Ken Levine. Make of that what ye will.
