Strawberry Shortcake: The Four Seasons Cake
Ah, how I recall those halcyon days of yore, skipping through the suburban streets of St. Louis while proudly clutching my Strawberry Shortcake, sniffing her hair like the poppers of youth and wondering where I could find a friend of every color. (Answer: New York.)
Now our girl Shortcake is all grown up and digitized for the masses by Shin'en and The Game Factory in her very own DS game, Strawberry Shortcake: The Four Seasons Cake. Though I'd forgotten about her, Miss Shortcake has actually been quite busy - she's earned more than $2 Billion since 2003 (holy cake!).
The Four Seasons Cake provides girl gamers (and the occasional gay gamer) with challenging gameplay and genuine graphics, two qualities often missing from games targeted at the lil' ladies. While Shortcake's previous DS title, Strawberryland Games, was cute and charming, I'm hoping this one has more platformy goodness than a collection of minigames. Because nothing says "Yes, I am" like a fella with a pink DS who's hunkering down for some Shortcake action.
