Ubisoft Snap Up Japanese Developer 'Digital Kids'

It seems that if you blink these days you miss another large gaming monopoly buying up one of the 'little guys'. That's what happened this week when Ubisoft splashed the cash on 'Digital Kids', a Japanese games developer.
Digital Kids are the folk behind titles such as Catz, Dogz, Hamsterz and Horsez - no I don't know why they spell them all wrong either. These titles have been popular sellers for Ubisoft in the past and now it would seem they want more control over the company that produces them.
It's an unusual move for a Western giant to buy a smaller Japanese development company, but word is that Digital Kids will be keeping their 20 employees and working more closely with Ubisoft in the future.
