Video: Assassin's Creed Console Comparisons

In the past, I've been rather underwhelmed by the PS3 builds of games that've been released for both Sony's new machine and the 360. To me, the graphics seem a bit less impressive and/or frame rates are wonky. However, I have to say that I'm not really noticing much of a difference between the two builds of Assassin's Creed... well, OK, it seems like it's a bit of a tradeoff, actually: the PS3 version seems a bit brighter and containing smoother edges, but the 360 build seems like it's actually got a bit more detail. However, during the times when the video zooms in, I have to say that the 360 looks just a bit better.

To me it seems the PS3 version is birghter and less detailed than the 360 version. Yeah the 360 is darker but the detail is much, MUCH greater. Sides I don't like my games really bright =P

The PS3 looks like they either weren't running it with the RGB at full range in the setting or had the saturation way down.

Other than that, my interest in the game went WAY down after knowing it all just amounts to "just a big long dream sequence". *meh*

Maybe if Sony hadn't made all that horsepower the PS3 has so difficult to program for, the games that release for both systems might just show a clear advantage for their platform. As it is, as usual, the 360 version looks superior (and with the controller, will play superior).

@Shin
You obviously haven't seen or played GRAW2 or COD4 on both 360 and PS3 then, have you?
In the right hands, "ports" don't have to look like...well...ports...

Shin Gallon said:

No, and until I can play them with mouse/keyboard, I won't be playing them on ANY console.

Considering embedded the video gives away the "twist", I thought I was safe mentioning it.
Sorry if I ruined it for you. :(

I know, that's why I said I'm sorry. I didn't realize that it was right in the video - it's the guys at gametrailers that are the idiots. :-(

If it makes you feel better the twist is told almost instantly in the game. The 360 version does seem to have better detail but the PS3 version look a lot cleaner to me. I actually got the 360 LE for Christmas and to be honest I'd buy a 360 version over a PS3 version just for the achievement points.

I don't think the PS3 version has less details, it's just that the game looks a lot more washed out. It might just be that their display needs calibration for the PS3 input.
