Video: Lesbians Find Love In Mass Effect
Game Videos has just posted the recently mentioned lesbian love scene from Mass Effect. The soon-to-be-blockbuster title has been on my radar for months after seeing some amazing artwork and detailed character models after E3. When I first heard there was an included lesbian love scene, I was jaded enough to assume it would be an awkward, clumsy embrace followed by a kiss and a fade to black. Well, I was right about the fade to black, but I'll happily eat the rest of my words. The short sequence comes off as quite sexy and more importantly, it seems natural. I can't wait to play Mass Effect this week so that I can understand more of the context of the scene. Luckily, it will see release on November 20th so we won't need to wait too much longer to find out. Unless you're one of those lucky few...

Now that was very nicely done, consistent with the narrative macrocosm of the game. I imagine if it had been directed more...blatantly...it would've seriously detracted.

Nicely done to pander to the core audience of the game. I hope some lesbians get mileage out of this, though. There could have been great potential for groundbreaking gay male interaction, but the easy way is always preferred.
Well, the above poster certainly has one opinion on the subject. Personally, I don't think this is pandering at all. I agree that I would have liked to see a male on male love scene, but I'm just happy to see the gay demographic represented in any way shape or form here. For you naysayers, try to appreciate the beauty of the scene itself, and how far we've come in games. From the clumsy embraces and fadeouts of the past, to this tastefully done, cinema-quality work.
Basically, I'm saying count your damn blessings. XD
Meh. So I guess I'm going to have to play Mass Effect with the thought that my main character is gay, without any special scenes to back it up.
So Mass Effect has become like pretty much most every game out there.
This is probably good news for all the lesbians and horny straight boys out there, but I just don't see it as being of any use to gay men really. Historically Lesbian women have already enjoyed more acceptance in various forms of media. Albeit as unrealistic sex-objects, but still.
I'll just wait and keep my hopes up for Fable 2 thank you very much.
it's really cool that gay people are represented in a tastful way at all..... but why oh why did they ONLY make lesbians -_-;
