Video: See What The PS Eye Can Do
Eye of Judgment just dropped recently, bundled with the PS Eye, and was a great intro to the capabilities of the peripheral and the types of games that would support it. Immediately I began to question, ‘Well, what’s next?’ Several titles are being released through the PSN to support the PS Eye, and they are out of this world.
Mesmerize looks interesting for a hazed out evening with your buds over and you whip this puppy out to silence a room for a few minutes. Tori Emaki looks like a wild Zen trip through an ancient Japanese watercolor. Both titles were released yesterday in Europe, although no date has been set yet for the US.
I’m fascinated with Operation Creature Feature and The Trials of Topoq. Creature feature looks fun and cute, but The Trials of Topoq is really impressive. The concept is simple, but the execution looks like Mc Escher takes on Super Monkey Ball. Eventually we should see all of these titles hit the PSN. When they do, will it be worth it to grab the PS Eye?

I don't have a PS3 yet, but i really want to get one...gahhh
But anyways, that Trials of Topaq looks REEEEEAAAAALLLLLYYYY cool. like really cool. lol, i love the way your body manipulates the floor. its amazing.
Finally Sony starts showing the kind of offbeat creativity we started seeing out of Nintendo at the 2004 and 2006 E3's. While still on the tech-demo side, these look at least a little more thought-out than the Eyetoy games on the PS2.
If enough of these ideas come to fruition at reasonable prices, and there's more stuff like the Japanese painting game than the virtual aquarium, between them and stuff like Little Big Planet I could see myself picking up a PS3 in 2009 or 2010.
Though I do wonder if "follow the leader" type games will plague the PS Eye the way "tilt the world" games have overrun the Wii (and I've bought nearly all of them, because I really need a Marble Madness update in the worst way.)
Buying a 360 was a mistake.
Oh, I wouldn't go that far.... I'll still be picking up a 360 long before the PS3 hits that price/compelling game ratio necessary for me to buy in. But it's finally starting to look like Sony is at least trying.
