Video: Wii Fit Japanese Extended Trailer
Okay, I know that my boyfriend is going to tease me mercilessly (he already has a good laugh whenever I play DDR), but I am really excited for Wii Fit. More for the potential of the balance board than the actual game itself. I suspect it's going to be more a collection of balance mini-games, and less a fitness regimen, but once the board is out and people own it, another developer can step in and make a proper workout game that uses the peripheral. Still, this trailer gets my hopes up, with the yoga and exercise sections. I also enjoy the running in place that registers your movement by putting the Wiimote in your pocket, but I am a little curious why the screen shot of the Wii menu had Wii Fit in its own channel in addition to the game channel. And I'm not sure why this family lives in a blindingly white house, but whatever. Maybe playing Wii Fit will make you feel like you're in heaven. I'm also not sure that I really want the game to remind me that I'm a little doughy, but as long as it helps make those love handles a little harder to grab hold of, I won't mind!

Looks like fun, but I won't be showing it off to anybody. Most of my friends already think I look like a fool playing just about any game on the wii.
I'm looking forward to this, now that I've seen the trailer... but I think it's going to be one of those games that you don't want people to know you own.
