Weekly XBLA Update: 11/14/07 - Happy 100th XBLA Release!

While the games coming to the Xbox Live Arcade this week might not be the most anticipated, they are being very thoroughly celebrated, especially by the folks at Microsoft - that's because this week's Screwjumper marks the 100th game released on the XBLA since its inception just over two years ago.
Normally I'd say something crass here about the name "Screwjumper," but in honor of this most momentous of Wednesdays, all I'll say about Screwjumper is that you can find him blundering about over at PinkKryptonite. Screwjumper the game, however, looks like a kind of fun way to smash stuff up - which is good, because destruction is the goal of the game. Descend on four different planets with 20 types of bombs and six different characters in both single and multiplayer modes - 800 Microsoft Points.
And then there's the other game this week. It's always hard to love a movie spin-off game, especially when it's a download. The chances of non-suckage always seems perilously low. Will Shrek-n-Roll buck the trend or suck the status quo? It's a puzzle game featuring 16 mazes across four environments, and features single, co-op, and versus multiplayer modes. I get kind of a The Incredible Machine vibe from it, but then again, I once accused Lance Bass of being straight. Also 800 Microsoft Points.
Shrek-n-Roll
Navigate through 16 challenging mazes across four unique environments in Far Far Away’s newest competitive tournament. Screwjumper
“Screwjumper!” allows players to compete with friends locally via a split-screen mode, as well as over Xbox LIVE. The game will be available worldwide with the exception of Korea and Japan this Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. GMT (2:00 a.m. PST) for 800 Microsoft Points and is rated “E 10+” by the ESRB.

Also, don't forget that for today only the full game Carcasonne is free!
You get 50 points for mentioning "The Incredible Machine". Good God, I'd kill for an XBLA version of The Incredible Machine in HD. And physics, too. Hella physics.
