Wii Drops MP3 Support, Opens Arms To AAC

According to GameBrink, the Wii's Photo Channel is due for an update next month. Somewhere in that update is a sneaky little creature that will disable the playback of MP3s on the system in favor of the AAC format. When that update comes up in the near future, be sure to read the change-log. Currently, there is no explanation for the change. Any theories? Does this piss any of you off? Conspiracy theories? Anyways, I've never used my Wii to play back any form of media and I likely never will. Let us know what you think.
Photo Channel Gets Downgraded This December [GameBrink]

It's a little annoying because all of my music in in mp3 format. It was cool to listen to Mariah Carey and The Smashing Pumpkins while playing Excite Truck. I was hoping a lot more games would include that feature in the future. I know Endless Ocean is doing that. But judging by how many original Xbox games included that feature, I'm not optimistic.
Other than music, I did use my Wii to watch a porn video one time...just one time.
This (currently) only affects the Photo Channel. Everyone's favorite way to kill ExciteTruck's terrible soundtrack is still alive and well.
What Mariah Carey song is befitting of the Excite Truck experience?
MP3 requires a licensing fee to be paid to Thompson as it's a proprietary format. AAC is an international standard, with no licensing fee payable.
Also AAC is a child of the mp3 format and produces smaller files for the same quality. Sadly much of my music is in ogg or flac so I'm usually always screwed ;)
"Honey" was the Mariah Carey song that I played Excite Truck to.
