DivX Coming Soon To PS3

Recently Xbox 360 owners were pleased by the inclusion of DivX support on their console. Owners can use the 360 to play back their DivX files, but developers cannot use the compression format for in-game cut scenes. The technophiles at Gizmodo just talked to the folks at DivX about bringing their technology to the PS3 and it sounds very promising. They have been working on full featured DivX support for the console, for owners and developers alike. PS3 owners will be able to play all of their DivX files, and developers will be able to use the technology for video compression in their games.
When asked how long it will take for DivX support to hit the PlayStation Network, the representative stated that it will be coming soon. So cross your little fingers chickadees, this may be hitting the network within the next couple of weeks.
