GameTap Losing 77 Titles December 11

Freddi Fish fans better get on the ball. On December 11, GameTap is losing 77 titles from its service, as a few companies - EA, Interplay, Atari, and some smaller ones - are pulling their games out. It's unclear what is causing the exodus, although "money" is the safe bet, followed by the idea that those companies are just "meanies."
The list of titles (which you can see here in GameTap user Burned Toast's profile) includes games like the Ultima series, Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri, and three Descent games. Also taking a blow are the so-called "family games," as the site loses all Arthur, Pajama Sam, Putt-Putt, and the aforementioned Freddi Fish games for younger children.
The loss of the games is a reminder that despite its value, nothing on the GameTap site is permanent, so get your kicks in while you can. Sadly, losing the titles will push the service back under the ballyhooed total of 1000 games; GameTap claims it was unaware it would be losing the games when they began advertising that number. Still, that leaves the service with more than 900 games to choose from, so hopefully this won't scare too many people away.

Fuck you stupid GameTap.
Ouch...
Alpha Centauri is a big loss.
I keep meaning to look at this... but ultimately I've got a corporate laptop that I don't play games on (Intel mac, GameTap compatible) and a G5 dual mac that I do, that GameTap isn't compatible with.
*shrug*
I want to feel bad about the whole thing. Intellectually, I understand your loss. I just don't *actually feel the pain*.
Not SMAC! They better be making SMAC 2 in this case x.x
All I need is my American McGee's Grimm.
I see a whole lot of games EA has been sitting on for over a decade and will never release again. Smooth move, bastards of the industry.
