Is The Phantom Lapboard Actually Real?

So, after I posted about how orders are being taken for the Phantom Lapboard, a friend of mine informed me that the lapboard order form has actually been online for quite some time and no one who's ordered one has received anything from Phantom Entertainment. Curious about this, I tried calling the phone number listed on the contact page, only to be directly routed to a generic voice mail account which gave no specifics other than reciting the phone number and offering to let me either leave a message or place a fax. I left a message, which I have yet to hear back about.
Next, I tried contacting the company via their contact page form, and no matter what department I tried to send it to, I received the following error message stating:
Method Not Allowed The requested method POST is not allowed for the URL /asp/contactMail.asp.
Finally, deciding that this whole situation was too weird not to pursue to the end, I tried to order a lapboard directly from the company store. Everything went smoothly, including being given the shipping option of using my own FedEx instead of paying the outrageous shipping prices listed by Phantom, until I completed the order.
Once the order was supposedly processed, I received a message stating a copy of my receipt would be emailed to me, but I could also click on a provided link and print out my own copy right away. I went for the latter option, only to receive a "File Not Found" error in the web browser. Unsurprisingly, I have yet to actually receive a copy of my receipt in my inbox, either. However, adding a little mystery to the mix, it turns out that my credit card has yet to be charged for the purchase.
So, now, I have a few unanswered questions: is Phantom Entertainment still around, or have they quietly shut their doors and left a decaying website online? Is the Phantom Lapboard ever going to actually see the light of day, now that its release seems to have been delayed for over a year? Exactly what in God's name did the company spend $62.7 million on? And, finally, when do you think we're going to find someone connected with this supposed console who is even weirder than Stefan Eriksson?

i could almost hear the piano climaxing as you delved deeper into the pelican brief, julia.
You are one brave (or maybe foolish) man, putting your credit card information into that site.
