Kane & Lynch... More Shady Business Revealed

I'm not sure how many copies of Kane & Lynch Eidos has actually managed to sell so far but I hope they've made up their expenses, because I suspect not too many people are going to be buying it in the future.
Aside from all the negative press surrounding what's been going on at Gamespot, it seems that Eidos has not been entirely up front about the reviews their game has been getting. No, wait, I take that back. They've been lying. A lot. When viewing the official Kane & lynch website, a flash ad comes up with two 5-star reviews which... well... which don't exist:
GameSpy did not say "It's the best emulation of being in the midst of a Michael Mann movie we've ever seen" in their review of the game. They said that in their E3 2007 coverage. In other words, a preview. They also did not give the game five stars. They gave it three. As for Game Informer, same deal. The highlighted quote does not appear in the review of the game. Nor do they give it five stars. Game Informer don't even score in stars. They gave it a 7/10.
Man, someone needs to get fired over this game and all the idiocy surrounding it. Someone who is not Jeff Gerstmann. Someone who actually deserves it.

Well, guess who's not buying a copy of it?
They're also quoting a Kotaku preview and claiming five stars when Kotaku doesn't give ratings and is, in fact, not a review site.
Would this equate to false advertising? They are literately making up stuff.
Would be interesting to see if they would officially comment on this amazing pile of shite they seem to be in.
At least when UbiSoft listed all of Assassin's Creed's awards in their print ads, the were up front that they were E3 awards.
I think Eidos needs to be a little more forthcoming - whether all these rumors are true or not in regards to GameSpot, this company is going to take a major hit as a result.
I'm sure they'll just disappear the flash ad and make a "no comment" comment again.
I just checked the US version of the Kane and Lynch website, and while the comments remain the exact same as when reported, all stars, 5 or otherwise, have been removed from the Flash page.
You know what, I was going to get this game but forget it.
I hate Gamespot/Gamefaqs or whatever they all reek off curroption.
I think a bigger story though is why they allow peodophiles on their web sites and allow them to talk about what they do with children without anything happening and then when you go asking about it you get suspended on gamefaqs.
What's so bad with bogus quotes in game reviews? Movie reviews do it all the time, and no one's up in arms about it.
And somehow, Adam Sandler still pulls down a paycheck every few years.
Now you're surprised that games do it, too?
