Make Some Noise With Bioshock Free Downloadable Content

We speculated a little while back that new downloadable content for Bioshock was coming soon, thanks to a new achievement appearing in the list. A month passed, we all went on with our lives as normal, secretly knowing we wouldn't be complete until that content appeared.
Get ready to fill the holes in your heart because 2K Games has announced that starting today, you can download a free update to the game that not only fixes the widescreen "issue" that had some people up in arms, but also gives us brand new stuff to use and do with our time in Rapture. Xbox 360 users will get the update automatically assuming they are logged into Xbox Live, and PC gamers who bought a retail version of the game can get a patch for the game from 2K Games support page for the game. If you bought the game via a digital download (ala Steam or Direct 2 Drive), go back to where you bought the game for updates.
The new content contains a new plasmid and three new tonics, described below, as well as giving a saucy new name to the achievement we heard about last month.
Four Plasmids and Gene Tonics:
- Sonic Boom: Hurls creatures and objects back with a blast of force
- EVE saver: Enables Plasmids to use less EVE
- Vending Expert: Reduces prices in the vending machines
- Machine Buster: Increases the amount of damage players deal to cameras, bots and turrets
Achievements (exclusive to Xbox 360):
- Xbox 360 players can gain 100 points for "Brass Balls," by beating BioShock on the "hard" difficulty setting without dying
I know everyone is probably really excited to try the new Sonic Boom plasmid, but personally I can't wait to get my hands on Vending Expert - I just love a bargain!
No word on how these plasmids will show up in the game, but my guess would be you'll buy them at a Gatherer's Garden or find them in really conspicuous places, nothing too fancy. Let us know in the comments if you try it out - I'll probably grab it later this morning. Maybe I'll even start that game on Hard I've been avoiding, and try my luck earning a pair of brass ones.

Brass balls! I love it. I traded my copy of Bioshock out and am now going to have to decide if I will pick it up again for the extra 100 points. It is sure to be difficult, but I hate to see my Bioshock 1000/1000 turn into 1000/1100.
O_O (Runs to play)
This is sweeeeet. I hope this sort of free extra content is a beginning of a trend.
