PaRappa Creators Reunite For Exclusive Wii Music Game

parappa_level1.jpg
Majesco announced today that musician/designer Masaya Matsuura artist Rodney Alan Greenblat, better known as PaRappa the Rapper's two dads, will work together once again to develop a new music title exclusively for the Nintendo Wii. CEO Jesse Sutton starts off the lovefest:
Masaya Matsuura and Rodney Alan Greenblat are industry visionaries whose legacy was built on crafting groundbreaking, genre-defining entertainment experiences that everyone can enjoy. We are incredibly excited to be working with talent of this caliber ...

He goes on to say that he's confident that their product will reach the same market that is currently snapping up Guitar Hero and Rock Band, although considering the background of the two creators, chances are the game will look and sound a little different than playing cock rock to a crowd of virtual fans.

Besides PaRappa and its sequel, Matsuura and Greenblat created UmJammer Lammy, but it's unclear if the new game will end up anything like those three games. On his own, Matsuura also designed Vib Ribbon and the recent iPod music game, Musika. Although he has several solo game credits, in the past five years Greenblat has focused mainly on his artwork.

PaRappa the Rapper was the first music/rhythm game I can remember playing, and I suuuuuuucked at it. I'd like to think that my skills have refined over the years, but back then I could barely squeak by Master Onion. I didn't have-ta believe. Not one bit.
