PlayStation Store Coming to PSP?
Sniff. I'd love to be able to download PS1 games to play on my PSP, but unfortunately, I have a Mac. And I don't have a PS3 either, so that's out. But all hope is not lost, because it would seem that Sony is considering making the PlayStation Store accessible directly from the PSP browser. I mean, it makes sense. It has a browser. Why even bother with the middleman? According to an interview that MTV Multiplayer conducted with Eric Lempel, the PlayStation director of network operations in charge of the store, it has to do with the ease of browsing (agreed — the PSP browser is slightly awkward) and security.
Multiplayer: A bunch of questions come to mind about this. Many people are asking about the requirement to access this store via PC. Does the road map call for a point where I can access the store using just my PSP?Lempel: Clearly that’s something we’re thinking about. With the capability of the PSP it’s something that should be possible, so it’s definitely something we’re thinking about. It’s just a matter of priorities and some technology that we need to make it all work right and make sure the content is delivered securely, just to protect some of our [intellectual properties]. Yeah it’s definitely something we’re thinking about.
Well, I guess I'll just have to wait and see. Sigh. It's too bad, really. I'm getting really tired of being discriminated against just because I have a Mac. Maybe Justin Long can do something about this...

You can run virtual PC, thats what I used to get all my stuff from my mac to my PSP. No hacks.
whats the deal with the macs? I do plenty with mine and my psp. i'm confused
brandon: I use my mac for psp stuff too for movie/music file syncs (PSPWare is nice for that stuff), but there are just some psp things that cannot be done from a mac yet, like purchasing and installing PSN games. It sucks that it's not available now, but I'm glad they will eventually replace it with something more direct.
While you're waiting for a work around solution Wootini, you could use a friends PC to access the store since the downloads get tied to your PSP (to ensure you don't make copies for others) and not the PC where you download...I think.
...and I'll stop commenting on this right now before someone claims I have an anti-sony bias for saying something possibly less than glowing about the PSP/Sony.

this is true.
since it's tied to your PSN account and the PSP it's attached to, it doesn't matter which computer you download it from.
