Rumorama: Rockstar Divorcing Take-Two In 2009?

Everybody's favorite Wedbush Morgan analyst, Michael Pachter (read: the only Webush Morgan analyst I've heard of), told Shacknews that GTA IV Rockstar North could very well split from its parent company, Take-Two Interactive, when founders and brothers Sam and Dan Houser's contracts expire in February 2009. Folks have already labeled such a move "pulling a Bungie," a term formerly reserved for a spectacular groin injury while base jumping.
Pachter might not be too far off, either - a move to independence could be followed by a very lucrative re-assessment of the company's market value. There's a lot of baggage with Take-Two - might the pair find themselves a few pennies richer if they cut the apron strings?
"I don't think that this is an issue of dissatisfaction with Take-Two; rather, I think it is rational to believe that in the wake of the $850 million Pandemic/BioWare deal, high quality developers like Bungie and [Rockstar] North would look to test their market value."
Then again - Rockstar is far and away the company's strongest card, to what lengths might Take-Two go to keep the jewel of their Nile?

GTA brings in a lot of money, but I think Take 2 might be better off just letting them go (crash and burn) somewhere else. I could definitely see someone putting up big money for RockStar only to have them "pull a Rare," not a Bungie.
