Video: Bedazzling Final Fantasy IV DS Cutscenes
Another amazing trailer for Final Fantasy IV on the DS. Every time I see something from what is my second favorite Final Fantasy of all time (VI being the first, obviously) and among the best RPGs I've ever had the pleasure of buying/playing all of it's iterations (except the Wonderswan), I get all aflutter. Final Fantasy IV is just one of those games that any self-respecting RPG fan has played through time and time again and still retains fond memories of it. The cutscenes look fantastic and it was great to hear a number of the characters do their voice, including Edge, even though it was in Japanese. I just really hope the English voice actors do a good job.
Now, click play and enjoy the vocalized theme of Final Fantasy IV and take in all of the pretty visuals. There, don't you feel better?

This thing better get a North American localization announced. Hopefully S-E will do so at Jump Festa, which is just a few days before xmas. That would be an awesome early present.
If this doesn't come to America that would make me very sad. This looks beyond awesome!
Only nine more days...!
I'm definitely getting this (and the requisite DS) for myself as an early Christmas present.
The first CG scenes gave me goosebumps. This is by far my favorite pre-VII FF.
Also, the vocalized theme sounds very similar to one that Uematsu recorded with Risa Ohki on the "Pray"/"Love Will Grow" FF Vocal albums released in the 90s.... those remain 2 of my favorite Final Fantasy albums.
@Atolm: Just be aware, that release date is for Japan only! Though, if you happen to know enough Japanese to enjoy this, I really freaking envy you.
@MuddBstrd
Heh heh, I'm aware; I'm in my third year (total) of living Japan, and I'm more or less functionally fluent in the language (there's always room for improvement, though), so I guess I'll have to deal with being really freaking envied!
(I'm trying to be cute, not snarky. Really. And that wasn't sarcasm. I think I'm digging myself into a hole here. Help.)
I remember when I played FF4 (FF2 for U.S.) on the SNES, and I cried at the scene where Palom and Porom petrified themselves to stop the closing walls from killing everyone.
Ahh such memories :(
It's weird how many of the cutscenes shown were some of the more touching scenes from the game. I hope they assume everyone who's getting the game is already familiar with the scenes, and so all the 'death' scenes shown won't surprise anyone.
Also, in regards to the Theme of Love, it does sound like Risa Ohki's (I think that is her name), but not quite the same. I think the lyrics are even different.

I cannot stop watching it. Fun fact, Theme of Love, which this is based upon, was entered into the standard Japanese music curriculum. Also, incidentally, it was first introduced in a year that any student that had to learn it, was not alive when the game was first released.

Perfect. I'm considering buying a DS for this -- if it get an NA release.
Note: I'm also living five days in the future.
Amazing. I can't wait to get my hands on it.
Awesome. If/when it comes out here I'm definitely getting it.
Holy crap that looks awesome!!!
Why couldn't have III for DS been this awesome?
I am looking forward to this. I did like this game, though that part about my best party members up and sacrificing themselves right when I'd just equipped them and gotten to using them well really annoyed me.
I have peed myself with joy. =D
Awww, poor Tellah. Not only did he have spell amnesia, but apparently he was completely color-blind, too...just look at his outfit. :(
I can't wait - and no I've never played any pre FFVII games, so that spoiler given above was a surprise to me. I have heard it was a very emotional game and I can't believe they fit all that in a tiny DS cartridge!
The voice acting sounds great and I don't know about any one else but I kind of hope they leave the japanese voices alone and have subtitles instead. For some reason, dubbed versions are never as good as the japanese ones.
I disagree, MME, I've heard some really good English voice acting in a good number of games. Releasing a game in America with Japanese voice acting wouldn't make much sense - so very few people speak that language here. On the other hand, I certainly wouldn't be opposed to having both voice sets available, if they can fit them both on there.
