Video: Desktop VR With Wii Remote (Includes Sexy Target Action)
Johnny Lee makes like a mad scientist in the above video and shows us how the Wii remote can be used to create interactive 3-D images on any screen. First, the sensor bar and remote go all Freaky Friday and switch places, then he demonstrates how wearing the bar on your head (or creating a fashionable pair of infrared light emitting safety glasses) allows the remote to track your movements, giving images the illusion of depth and creating dynamic pictures that change perspective based on your movement.
Since he's really only using the camera on the remote, it's possible that something similar could be rigged up for the Playstation Eye and the Xbox vision camera, although they'd probably have to be taught to track movement of the IR lights. The video definitely makes a case for the technology, but will this stay just a neat trick, or might we expect someone to take advantage of this someday?

A very nice tech demo. But with the PlayStation Eye or the XBox Vision Camera face tracking software could be used so a player wouldn't need to wear anything.
That's pretty freakin' awesome. First person shooters seriously need that kinda motion.
That is really cool but I am unsure how it can be used in any FPS. For on-the-rail shooters it will be fantastic as you can 'adjust' your viewpoint and dodge aerial attacks. But standard FPS still needs the player's movement nunchuck (or other similar alternative). A person will also have limited forward/backward or side movement in their living room/bedroom, so it wont be useful at all except maybe dodging or tilting.
I am also unconvince that the wiimote technology is accurate nor fast enough for any quick real time movements. Maybe in the next generation of Wii mote technology?
Damn... I want his TV...
