Video: Etrian Odyssey II Updates
RPG fans who enjoyed Etrian Odyssey take note, the Japanese site has updated with several videos. A story trailer (above) and a very short gameplay trailer, where no combat is shown. The new game seems to involve a flying castle knows as the 'ark'. Exploring the strange depths of a flying castle with my party of gorgeous anime warriors? Yes please. I'm excitedly waiting for the release of this one.

Ugh. Etrian Odyssey was a barely playable mess of an RPG. It was archaic in its gameplay style and way too hard to actually enjoy playing. Unless they make some major changes to the gameplay and difficulty level for the second game, I would have absolutely no interest whatsoever in playing it.
Etrain Odyssey is old school hardcore dungeon crawler - that is where the challenge lie and I find it great. If you are a casual player, or even a core player that dont want too much depth (ie FPS), then the difficulty can be quite jarring. But once mastered, it's nothing to worry about.
There are a few things that I dislike such as making you walk to get back and to town. But I find it a really good game and I really enjoy it. But it isn't for everyone.
What I will be looking for in the second game is whether its just a 'new level' or if they add something completely new.
