Video: Heavy Rain On The Eyes

I was just talking to my buddy today about Heavy Rain, inquiring about any new footage or screenshots. He replied in the negative, but we were really excited to see what was coming from the studio that produced one of the great modern adventure games, Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy.

A few months ago It was particularly interesting to find out that Quantic Dream had bought their own state-of-the-art motion capture equipment to work on their new game. The initial "audition" demo was quite impressive by digging deep into the uncanny valley. Now more footage has surfaced and the valley seems to be shrinking to the point where we question reality itself. If the eyes are windows to the soul, what if no soul belongs to the eyes? Watch the video and you may see.

This is exciting. The eyes really do look completely natural. The only thing I found a bit off about this video was the slight jerkiness of the head movement.

It is surprisingly easy to track exact movement of the eyes with electrodes. It would be cool if captured eye motion came to games.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
