Cooking Mama Keeps On Cooking

cookingmama$.jpg

Wow. I never expected Cooking Mama to even earn a sequel, let alone sell 1.6 million units across three games with a fourth on the way! Good on you! Majesco proudly announced today that the Cooking Mama series has sold 1.6 million units in the United States. Wait. That number's just for the US? Criminy! Oh, and over one million of those units are just from the original Cooking Mama on the DS.

“The success of Cooking Mama has been akin to catching lightning in a bottle,” said Jesse Sutton, Chief Executive Officer, Majesco. “A unique concept, iconic main character and gameplay execution that fully utilizes the stylus and Wii Remote™ have proved to be a winning combination. We appreciate the continued support from all of Mama’s fans and look forward to launching the fourth title in the franchise later this year.”

Somehow that DS sequel slipped under my radar. I loved the original, so I'm not sure why I didn't rush right out and buy Dinner With Friends. And like he said, the sequel to Cooking Mama: Cook Off for the Wii will be out this year, so there's that, too. Lots of cooking to do! Don't burn yourself!
