Darth Vader And Yoda To Star In Soul Calibur IV

In what could be the most unexpected development to come out of Namco, Darth Vader and Yoda with be playable characters in the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Soul Calibur IV. Your eyes do not deceive you, it's true. 1up got the skinny on the shots directly from Namco earlier today, so this is the real deal, not some fanboy mock-up.
A pair of incredibly famous sci-fi characters thrown into a historical fantasy fighter may be a bit strange to the onlooker, but remember the odd cameos by Spawn, Link, and Heiachi in the respective Xbox, GameCube and PS2 versions of Soul Calibur II. It's a surprise, but not much of a stretch for the series.
I'm thinking that battling the diminutive Yoda will be a bitch. He can completely avoid all high attacks, so saddle up your low sweeps if you ever run into him. Darth on the other hand will probably be a powerhouse like Spawn in the Xbox version of Soul Calibur II. How balanced will this pair be? That remains to be seen, but they will undoubtedly add some interesting gameplay to this title.

Namco, why? WHY do you do this to me??? I'm going to go cry now.
As gorgeous as that screenshot looks, not being a SW fan at all, this news annoys me. There's much more interesting characters to add.
At least the previous ones were game related. Except Spawn, unless you count the abysmally bad games based on that franchise that is.
I'm geeking out!
If they'd just bring back Rock for SC4, they could have *Shaggy and Scooby* as guest star cameos for all I care, and I'd still buy it.
