EVE Online Gets Steam-y For 21 Days

Today it was announced that Valve's Steam service gets it's first MMO with the critically acclaimed title EVE Online. It will be promoted with a 21-day free trial for all Steam gamers. New players will be able to receive a $5 off discount for the first month, with subsequent months running about $14.99. There is also a discount when multiple months are purchased at a the same time. The title is not yet available on the Steam service, but is listed as coming soon. There is no price point set for the game. Interested players can purchase the game on the official site for $19.95
This is one of the longest trials offered for the title to entice new players to the world that boasts 220,000 subscribers worldwide. Do we have any EVE-ers out there who would like to chime in with their impressions of the game? I have a friend who's been following the game for a while, and his impressions sound like and intergalactic episode of Dynasty. Do tell.

EvE takes a while to be able to build a few things up in the game, but it has some of the best PvP and player driven economy I've seen in an MMO. Just takes forever to do anything. Still... been playing it for a year now, and I don't see myself quiting anytime soon.
