Looking For A Few God Mods

In the last year and a half, our little site has grown significantly, especially in the area of our forums. As of today we have nearly 3,000 forum members who span all walks of life. As we all know, with that many people things can start to get a little nutty. Not everyone knows how to behave themselves in these situations. Unfortunately, the staff is pretty busy with writing or working their day jobs and we don't always have the time to be in the forums and chat to make sure everything is going smoothly. Many of you have expressed an interest in being moderators for the chat and forums and we think this is a great idea. And who knows potential community mods better than the community?
To that end we are now officially asking for interested parties to come forward and put their names in the hat. Once we have a short list of names, we will put them up for a vote so that our community members can pick who they think would be the best people for the job. So, if you are interested in being a forum and/or chat mod, please inform us of your intentions int the comments to this post. We will continue to take names until Monday at which point we will turn it over to the vote! Good Luck!

I'd like to throw my skull cap into the ring.
If it helps at all, I'm an Administrator over at Hero Chat (http://herochat.com/forum/) with a registered user list of 1887 members ... not that I'm trying to bias the judging, of course!
Will all do respect, Flynn. I don't believe this is the best route.
You're asking people OUTSIDE the community who don't partake or know anyone on the site to become a moderator.
Basically you're asking people who might never have been to the forums majority of the time first. I'm just giving you the community's perspective on this.
At anyrate. I nominate
Karsh
Robber
Peteypuke(maybe)
and
teknomcr
I have to agree with Rayo here; while I haven't had forum moderation experience, I do have experience with moderating a community which has formed around a website. Not considering those people first (in this case, the forum members) is just not a good look.
I nominate myself because I have absolutely no experience in being a moderator. And I like the cool haircuts that mods have.
I volunteer for a moderator position for the chat room. I used to moderate several EFnet IRC channels back in the day. I can do the forums, too, though, I spend way more time on the chat
I think the only people that ought to be considered for the position of moderator are those who have already shown activity in the forums and chat and a good understanding of forum/chat rules and conduct.
As such, openly asking on the front page as opposed to on the forums/chat doesn't seem like the best way to go about this.
I'm throwing my name into the hat, and I nominate Rayo.
I have had experience with moderating forums in the past.
Guys, Guys... Relax. Of course we are going to consider people who are active in the forums first. We're not going to bring on someone nobody knows or is comfortable with. I doubt that anyone who had never been on our forums before or the chat would want what amounts to an unpaid job anyway. All the voting for the finalists will be done on the forums and by the community members, so ultimately you guys will be making the final decision.
I'd like to be considered if that is possible.
I would like to be a moderator because it's something I'd be good at, and gaygamer.net is the first organization i've come across in a few years that i care enough about to want to work to keep at its best. I believe I'm fun, fair, and a very familiar face in the forums and in my chatroom. I hope I'll be considered, and I thank you for the changes you're making!

Well I thought I'd put in my application too. I'm currently a moderator for a couple IRC channels, one of which is also gay oriented (see #GTN on p2p-network). I've been away for a while but I'm a regular user of IRC so since I've discovered we finally set one up I'll most likely be parked there. But I've been told that I'm a likeable person and will keep the channels fun and yet safe for everyone.
Thanks for your support everyone! And good luck to everyone else.
