Man Gets Crabs By Trading Pirate Videogames
How is that for an image? No, not what you are thinking. A man named George Clarke (age 61) tried his hand at peddling bootleg copies of various games. Unfortunately for him, he attempted this maneuver at a local wharf, and discovered that the sailors there did not have the money to purchase the games. I know I wouldn't want to get my wallet wet. Ultimately, Mr. Clarke settled on an undisclosed sum of fresh seafood in the form of crabs. Eventually, someone tipped off the authorities.
Later that day, Mr. Clarke’s premises were searched by officers of Strathclyde Police - Ayrshire Division– and investigators from North Ayrshire Trading Standards, where three computers and over 200 discs containing illegally copied games for PC, PlayStation®2, PSP® (PlayStation®Portable), Xbox® were seized. The PCs and discs were later examined by ELSPA (the Entertainment&Leisure Software Publishers Association) investigators.
Not exactly what I would call "phat loots". Honestly though, what was this guy doing? Walking up and down the pier with a backpack full of DVDs and asking individual people? Either way, I hope the crabs tasted good, because they cost him a lot of money (£3,000) in the end.
