The tremendously popular anime series Dragon Ball Z is finally making its debut on next-gen consoles. (No, the Wii port of Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 doesn't count because... well, it was a port of a PS2 game.) Atari announced today that Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit is in development for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. And in addition to the snazzy next-gen graphics, the game will also feature online battles.

"Atari is excited and ready to offer fans the next iteration of the Dragon Ball Z video game series on the next-gen consoles," said Donny Clay, Producer, Atari, Inc. "With explosive cinematic graphics and online gameplay, fans of the series and of the fighting genre will surely enjoy Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit."

The game won't be out until later in 2008, but for a few screenshots and the full press release, make the jump!
