Nintendo Replaces Buggy Fire Emblem Discs

fireemblemstud.jpg

I've got no personal experience with this one, because the one time I tried to play a Fire Emblem game it kicked my butt and gave me stress headaches. But some of you who picked up the recent release Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn might have noticed that you couldn't actually transfer over your save files from the GameCube title Path Of Radiance like you were supposed to. See, turns out there was a bug in the Wii title that would lock up the game if you had any game data from an Easy difficulty game (which would be the only way I'd ever play it).

Anyhoo, it turns out that simply deleting the Easy mode saves would let you transfer the harder game data to your Wii game, but if you really desperately wanted to use your Easy mode or just believe in the principle of the thing, you can contact Nintendo by E-mail or on the phone and give them your information. They'll let you know what to do next so you can send them your "broken" disc and they can send you a replacement.

So all two of you guys out there who have this game can rest easy knowing that Nintendo is aware of the problem, and doing something about it. And you know how sometimes you look at a word so many times that it stops actually looking like a word? That's how I feel now about "emblem." Seriously.

Oh, that's interesting. I wonder what you get if you transfer over your save data from Path of Radiance... I don't have Radiant Dawn yet, but I plan to get it at some point.

I had a very funny comment about how this means the Wii doesn't want you to wuss out and play games on "easy" mode, but then I saw that art.

Guh. Hot guy is hot.

Once again, Nicholas comes to save the day.

First off, the benefits to having a PoR(Path of Radiance) game save transferred involves all the characters of this game having their stats transferred to RD(Radiant Dawn). This includes weapon levels and stat gains (albeit they are transferred and nerfed in a fashion that they're not going to take over your game in RD)

Second, "Hot Guy"s name, is Sothe. He's a terrible character with TERRIBLE stats. There are several other characters in PoR that are better looking than him, such as Kieran, Ike, Geoffry and a host of others.

And finally, I'm glad they fixed this bug for the people who hadn't picked up it. I didn't want to wait around for the game to be fixed, so sadly, I deleted my easy data and started a new game under Normal data. I'm not disappointed however because the first time you play through Fire Emblem you have a RSG (Random Stat Generator) while the second and subsequent times you go through you can have a steady number generation based on job class and equipped items.

It's difficult to explain all the intracacies of this game in it's glory, but I think Wootini and anyone else that hasn't played this game should do themselves a favor. This is the most lush and satisfying Tactics game I've played since FFT and Shining Force II

Seconding the Nickster. Listen to this man, he knows what he's talking about.

Plus there's gay and lesbian subtext. A lot. In fact, in Radiant Dawn, one of the characters is openly a lesbian.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
