CES 2008: Nyko Solves Rock Band Guitar Issues On PS3
As ridiculous as it may seem, there doesn't seem to be an official fix to allow Guitar Hero III guitars to work with Rock Band. Essentially they are the same instrument with the Guitar Hero III controller missing some bells and whistles of the Rock Band counterpart. Those crafty techno wizards at Nyko seem to have a fix for the issue.
Unveiled at CES this year, Nyko will be releasing their third party guitar, the "Front Man," a Guitar Hero-modeled wireless controller that will work with Guitar Hero III and Rock Band. The guitar will use a dongle with a switch to seamlessly transition back and forth between both music games. This may not be the best solution to the extra guitar issue, but the "Front Man" should be a viable alternative to buying an official extra guitar for each game.
