Sid Meier to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award

Legendary game designer Sid Meier will be receiving a lifetime achievement award at this years GDC. Meier, the creator of such strategy/sim classics as Civilization, Pirates! and Railroad Tycon (amongst others) has been working his magic in the business for over twenty five years. Not only has he created award winning games but was a founding partner of game companies MicroProse and Firaxis. The ward will be presented at the Game Developers Choice Awards Ceremony on February 20, 2008 in San Francisco.

I don't like his games all that much, but then again, I don't give out that many annual awards.
BTW: Did you mean Railroad Typoon?
Really, I love your quick reactions to news out there as well as your style, but have a coffee before you post, typing with your eyes closed is not gonna gain you any wards...
I haven't had the chance to try the revamped Pirates! yet, but I put a LOT of hours into the original on the C64, back in the day. Congratulations, Mr. Meier!
