Video: Alone In The Dark Gameplay Trailer
This Alone in the Dark trailer serves to show off what one will be able to do in the game. So far, it looks pretty neat. I like how you can just about damage anything. The inventory screen is not a menu as we're used to, but rather the inside of his coat from the character's perspective. That is what caught my eye the most. It doesn't hurt that the game looks pretty, too.
Are any of you longtime Alone in the Dark fans looking forward to this? I am. Well, I have high hopes, at least.

RE4 control scheme with a destructible environment. If it really allows you to use anything as a weapon and break down any door you want... not just the few THEY want you to break down, then I'm fairly impressed.
If there's one thing that's always made me nuts about survival horror games, it's the fact that these big, strong guys wilt in the face of a plywood door.
"The door is locked... I'd better find another way."
You're carrying an axe, you twit.
Gosh, that looks pretty dang gorgeous. I'm an Alone in the Dark noob, having only played New Nightmare, but I'll definitely be picking this up whenever it comes out.
Naturally the game is absolutely beautiful, but I think my favorite part of the trailer has to be the menu system.
I love how it is your belt that is the menu.
Argh!
much love.
I've loved the AITD series since my 3D0 days, when you played as Edward Carnby. I can't wait for this new game, I LOVE the interactive environment, especially the use of fire. I was also taken with the belt inventory, it's nice to see something fresh after all these years. I'm assuming you'll have a very limited inventory if it's only what you can carry.
