Video: Bionic Commando Rearmed Debut Trailer!
Thanks to Asterick's excellent Bionic Commando Retrovision article, I started searching around for Bionic Commando news and stumbled across the Bionic Commando Rearmed Debut trailer. Hot damn! What a franchise to revisit. Regardless what you think of the redesign of the main character for the new full 3D remake of Bionic Commando with the rasta dreads, you can't deny the draw of this excellent title.
Hitting the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade, Bionic Commando Rearmed is essentially the original NES title with a 3D coat of paint. The visuals are in 3D, but the action is the same arm-swinging 2D goodness children of the NES grew to love.
Of course there will be additional content added to this already excellent title, to make it a must-download for next-gen gamers.
IGN sat down with Ben Judd, one of the producers at Capcom Japan, and he had this to say about the remake:
"Since Bionic Commando Rearmed is an homage to the original, it will closely follow the story of the original. Imperials? Yes. Master D. Ohhh yes. However, now that we don't have the same memory limitations that the 8-bit game did, we have fleshed out the story quite a bit. Without altering the original story, we have added some new background information that helps tie Bionic Commando Rearmed to its next-gen big brother."
Check out the video for some of the fantastic extra features such as more advanced weaponry, the ability to grab enemies and barrels with your gun, and the clincher in the deal, 2-player co-op play.
Check please! Put it in the bag, we're taking it.

This is a first day purchase. No reviews needed.
I just cried a little from sheer joy.
I dig the new style but I was really sold at the two-player option...
This game looks fantastic!
This. Looks. Awesome! "Get a life nerds!" indeed we will! First on my shopping list this is!
Oh! And did anyone realized the soviet propaganda in the background at 1:02?
The old familiar starting level tune was with me for a long time back in the NES days. Once the remix kicked in, it was ON! This cannot come fast enough!
